Apparently, Anne Hathaway gets wet for men with a criminal vein (on that note, we have a penchant for shoplifting tampons from grocery stores, so dinner at 8 tonight?).

Her current beau Adam Shulman has been accused by a contractor of possibly stealing art from private property in New York City.

Shulman and a pal were spotted by a New York Post photographer removing part of a street mural from a building in Manhattan’s Meatpacking district, the newspaper says.

“If he brings me back the art, it’s over,” building owner Ken Hart said of the work, done by street artist Mr. Brainwash.

“But if he doesn’t, I’m going to the police to report it stolen.”

While reps for Shulman have not responded to requests for comment, the incident immediately calls up Hathaway’s last boyfriend — shady financier Raffaello Follieri. After a flashy courtship, Hathaway’s Italian beau was ultimately imprisoned for misappropriating investments from the likes of billionaire Ron Burkle.

The resulting scandal found Hathaway front and center, with feds even confiscating her personal diaries as evidence.

Vanity Fair profiled the pair in a dramatic account tagged “The Princess and the Con Man.” Follieri is currently serving a 4 1/2-year prison sentence.
