Motherhood has inspired actress Alyson Hannigan to find new ways to be eco-friendly.

The How I Met Your Mother star, whose very adorable daughter Satyana will be celebrating her first birthday next month, tells Mother Nature Network that she is a "very green" mama.

“We use gDiapers, a hybrid - it’s cloth on the outside and there’s a liner that you can compost, but if you don’t, it biodegrades in three months, not years," Alyson explains. "We go to the farmers market all the time. We’re putting in an organic garden to grow things I can’t get at the farmers market. Besides produce such as strawberries and blueberries that I just want to have, we’ll do unusual lettuces and a particular kind of cucumber and a lot of different herbs.”

We've spotted little Satyana sporting her gDiapers while out and about with mom and dad over the past year.

Little 11-month-old Satyana Marie stayed tucked away in her stroller as she and her parents, Alyson Hannigan, 35, and Alexis Denisof, 43, took an afternoon stroll together in Brentwood, Calif. on Saturday (February 20).

The always happy mom smiled and waved to the paps as they made their way down the street. It also looks as though Alyson has finally converted her daughter’s stroller into the seated position – a topic which has fueled much debate!

In just over a month, on March 24, the mother-daughter duo will be celebrating their 1st and 36th birthdays! Last week the How I Met Your Mother star took to Twitter to find some ideas for their special day, asking, “Any good suggestions for my daughter's first birthday party? It's my birthday too.”
