5 Celebrity Moms With a Brood of Boys

Let’s hear it for the boys!

With the recent arrival of Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale third son – Apollo Bowie Flynn –  let’s take a look at 4 more Hollywood moms whom have all boys in their brood.

  • Gwen Stefani:

Rocker couple Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale welcomed their third son - Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale – on February 28, 2014.

In January, the Cool singer – already mom to sons Kingston, 7, and Zuma, 5 – revealed that she was expecting another boy. Wearing a blue shirt and crown, Gwen captioned an Instagram photo: “I was ready to hand over the crown. But I guess I am still queen of the house. #itsaboy #surroundedbyboys.”

In 2010, the No Doubt frontwoman admitted that her brood of boys is a bit “weird.”

“I mean, it does seem weird that I don’t have a girl, but I feel like I’m running out of time,” Gwen shared. “I also don’t want to spread myself so thin that I can’t even be good for them… Poor Zuma, he’d be the middle guy. I’m not focusing on it right now, but it’s not up to me anyway, you know? These things are miracles, so we’ll see. Otherwise, the clothes are probably going to go to some girlfriend of Kingston’s!”

  • Melissa Joan Hart:

Sabrina, The Teenage Witch star Melissa Joan Hart and husband, musician Mark Wilkerson, are parents to three boys: Mason, 8, Brady, 6, and Tucker, 18 months.

“I was actually relieved it was a boy,” Melissa told Celebrity Baby Scoop.

She added: “It makes life a little easier. I wasn’t prepared for the ‘girly’ toys and accessories. I couldn’t be more happy with the family I have surrounding me but I’m not ready to say I’m done having kids just yet.”

  • Cate Blanchett:

Two-time Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett and husband, screenwriter Andrew Upton, have three sons: Dashiell, 12, Roman nearly 10, and Ignatius, nearly 6.

“Having boys is great,” the Elizabeth star said. “It’s a neat position to be in and I love the high energy that comes along in raising boys. It’s fun.”

  • Julie Bowen:

Modern Family star Julie Bowen and husband Scott Phillips are proud parents to three sons: Oliver, nearly 7, and 4 1/2-year-old twins John and Gus.

What’s life like in her all-boy household?

“I have three boys, so my house is … rowdy!” she joked with Celebrity Baby Scoop.

She added: “They are close in age, so they really do like playing with one another, and so far, get along very well. I hope that continues.”

  • Britney Spears:

While she loves her boys, pop superstar Britney Spears says she’d love to give her sons — Sean Preston, 8, and Jayden James, 7 — a baby sister.

“I would like to be busy the first couple of years, but then I would really like to have another baby, a girl,” Britney admitted.

She added: “I think she would be like a mini-me. I think it’s going to be crazy. I’m not going to feel as alone in the world anymore. I’m going to feel like I have a second person, like, that’s me.”

Julie Bowen: Limits Are Set With My Kids

More Celebs at The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards in LA

Modern Family’s Julie Bowen says being your child’s best friend is not the best choice.

Mom to Oliver, 6, and 4-year-old twins Gus and John – she tells Working Mother, “Being your kids’ best friend is not always the best parenting choice. It’s not about everybody being happy all the time. It’s about setting limits. In my house that makes my kids very unhappy, like tantrums-on-the-ground-twice-a-day unhappy. But the limits are set.”

With her high-profile career – she’s had to adjust a work plan around her family.

She states, “At first I didn’t. My schedule at Modern Family is fantastic, so I didn’t have to give up much. But I’m discovering that my kids now notice more when I’m gone, that they want more time and attention. So I shorten trips to a bare minimum or just don’t go at all.”

All the others who tried and failed at the Emmys 2011

As possibly the only woman that can stand next to Christina Hendricks and not have her chest look like a large gaping hole after a dynamite blast, Sofia Vergara would not ordinarily lead this kind of post, but she covered them, so damn it, she failed us. Julie Bowen, on the other hand, is a pro at chesticle failure, and for the life of us, we can’t understand why she insists on plunging necklines when those three rascals of hers have left her with a bossom that’s as enticing as a classroom writing board. And then we have Gwyneth Paltrow who ate a whole organic leaf yesterday and was proud to show it didn’t leave her bloated, Lea Michelle who assumed we find vertebrae arousing, and Kate Winslet whose semi-sexiness we chose to ignore because she made those comments about being a foe of plastic surgery. Nobody call our obsession with huge fake boobs unhealthy. Oh, and Katie Holmes was there. Before two security guards picked her up and carried her back to her paranoid gay ewok.

Sofia Vergara’s Nipple Comes Out to Say Hi

Oh my. Who’d have thought that we’d get a nipple slip post out of something shown on ABC? We sure didn’t, but then Sofia Vergara slipped a nip on “Modern Family” (Oh and if anyone asks, tell them that we only watch Modern Family for Sofia Vergara). Priceless. Now we can finally stop watching “Modern Family.” Although maybe we should keep watching. You know, just in case it happens again. Or maybe Julie Bowen will decide to flash her panties.

Julie Bowen Talks Breastfeeding

Actress Julie Bowen credits her amazing postpartum figure to breastfeeding her twins Gus and John - "It's like two little liposuction machines on you. They suck the fat out of you," she's said - but she's the first to admit that nursing's not for every new mom.

Weighing in on Gisele Bundchen's recent controversial remark that there should be a law requiring mothers to breastfeed their babes, Julie says, “That’s a little dramatic. I’m a big live and let live-r. Seriously [do it], if it works for you, if it’s easy. If it wasn’t easy, I wouldn’t have done it. Some people can’t do it physically…so don’t do it.”

The Modern Family star and her husband Scott Phillips are also parents to 3-year-old son Oliver.

Julie Bowen Dishes On Her Modern Family

Modern Family star Julie Bowen enjoyed a sunny stroll yesterday with two of her three boys - 1-year-old twins Gus and John (May 22).

The 40-year-old actress, who is also mom to son Oliver, 3, recently chatted about her male-dominated household:

“There’s a lot of male energy, and it’s very fun because they’re very physical," Julie tells OK! "They are not complex yet. They may develop complex personalities, but right now they want to throw things, they want to bark, they want to throw balls, they want to drive cars and trucks. It’s simple because it’s about having high-energy, and I can actually do that part. When it gets complicated later, I don’t know what I’m going to do.”

The busy mom, who is married to software developer Scott Phillips, adds of her own "modern family," "There is no such thing as a traditional family. When you shake a family tree, you never know what’s going to fall out.”

Julie Bowen Celebrates Twins’ 1st Birthday

Modern Family funny-lady Julie Bowen has her hands full these days. The mom-of-3 boys jumped right onto her hit mockumentary-style show after welcoming twin boys Johnny (aka "Mister Gadget") and Gus ("more lovey needy"), and one year later the family, including husband Scott Phillips and 3-year-old son Oliver has celebrated the twins 1st birthday with a charity bash, reports US Weekly.

Bowen chose to support Baby2Baby which donates gently used baby items to families in need. Of the party, the always-frank actress said,

Honestly, [the twins] have more than enough stuff and there are so many families in Los Angeles that don't even have the bare necessities. So if I can take two over-privileged kids' birthdays and use it as an opportunity to get other kids the stuff they need, I'm overjoyed to do that."

Bowen then opened up a bit about big brother Oliver's take on his little brothers', joking, "I love Oliver. He is my first and is always going to have a very special place in my heart. But he has not come around to understanding the beauty of his brothers. He will, eventually, but we just have to try and make sure he doesn't kill them."

The actress also stopped by George Lopez's show recently and dished on breastfeeding twins. She even included a pic, saying, "It's like two little liposuction machines on you. They suck the fat out of you."

Julie Bowen sure knows how to make a man swoon

Julie Bowen appeared on The Lopez show on Monday during which she showed off a photo of how she saves time  – by breastfeeding both of her twin babies at the same time.

‘It’s like two little liposuction machines on you.

They suck the fat out of you. They call it the “double football hold”.

‘You hold one here, and here [gesturing to her breasts], like two footballs.’

‘They’re doing God’s work right there – helping me return to my birth weight.’

PS: The remaining pictures are of the twins engaging in extracurricular activities when they’re not turning Julie Bowen’s tits into used up condoms.

Charitable Celebrity Moms

We often hear of Angelina Jolie's philanthropic missions, however this mama is far from alone when it comes to giving back. Actresses Chandra Wilson, Alyson Hannigan, and Julie Bowen are all advocates for various charities, along with a long list of many others.

Working Mother has complied a list of celebrity moms who are making good of their celebrity status:

Mom-of-three Chandra Wilson: Joined the Downy Touch of Comfort program which delivers personalized, hand-made quilts to children staying in Children’s Miracle Network hospitals throughout the country. Of the program the Grey's Anatomy star says, “As a mom, most of my life focuses on caring for my children and making sure they are safe and secure wherever they may be. It brings me a great deal of joy to be a part of this program and know that Downy is partnering with these wonderful organizations to help children feel more comforted and at ease in an unfamiliar and sometimes intimidating place."

Mom-of-two Kristi Yamaguchi: Launched the Always Dream Foundation which partners with local organization across the country to help children in many different situations improve their lives and do what might not have been possible without this special kind of support. Of the organization Yamaguchi says, "I realize that the dreams and accomplishments I have fulfilled are a direct result of my family's nurture and love. While I have been supported in the pursuit of my dreams, I realize that such opportunities do not exist for all children. For that reason, I felt the desire to create an organization whose sole purpose would be to inspire and embrace the hopes and dreams of children."

Celebrity Parents Attend March Of Dimes Event

Last weekend, more than 10,000 walked in the March of Dimes March for Babies to help fight preterm birth and give all babies a healthy start in life. Preterm birth is the number one cause of death for newborns in the United States, and babies who survive often face lifelong health problems.

Celebrity parents such as Nancy O'Dell, Dayanara Torres, Julie Bowen, Nicole Sullivan and Galen Gering marched for babies in this great cause on Saturday (April 24) in Los Angeles.

Nancy O'Dell, host of Saturday's fundraiser, told Celebrity Baby Scoop about the importance of the organization:

I am so honored to be hosting the March of Dimes March for Babies. I've been associated with the March of Dimes for over 10 years now and, as a mother, this organization means the world to me. Every year in California alone, more than 55,000 babies are born too soon and too small and it is the March of Dimes which helps so many of those babies go on to lead long and wonderful lives. All babies deserve a healthy start and I am honored to walk for all those precious little ones!"

Julie Bowen didn’t take our advice, still sporting a swimsuit

38501PCN_BowenJulie Bowen shocked pretty much everyone who thought she was a hot piece of ass when she showed off a bloated version of Kely Rippa’s penis encrusted torso meets a chiseled chimp’s underbelly for the needs of a Hawaiian episode of Modern Family. Granted, this time she covered her erector-nator of midriff with confusing horizontal lines, but it just gave us more time to ponder on why her crotch looks like that of a tranny with half the tape job coming undone. Honestly, there’s no way you can win with such knowledge-thirsty minds, Julie, so just wrap it up…preferably in a burka with no easy access entry points.

Julie Bowen Should Be Hot, But Isn’t

I’m not sure why I can’t stop looking at this atrocity. Julie Bowen, once worthy of many self-spankings, has now been reduced to a wanna-be MILF. It’s just… that outie. THAT G-DAMN OUTIE. It almost seems obscene, like there is a tiny little penis poking out from her stomach, trying to say hello. Not to mention she sort of looks pregnant, but we know that her ovaries are too shriveled and don’t hold eggs any more. Well, there might be one 40 year old egg struggling in there.

Try to enjoy these photos but it just seems wrong to do anything but stare at the enigma that is her stomach. The butt is still high and firm and the tits are worthy of approval… it’s just that her stomach looks like the carcass of E.T. that was found floating face-down in the Potomac in the dead of winter. That’s all.

Julie Bowen: “It’s Nothing But Tiny Penises & Poop All Day Long”

Modern Family's Julie Bowen doesn't sugar coat raising three boys under 2 1/2.

It's a nightmare," she told Us at the Producers Guild of America Awards Sunday. "It's nothing but tiny little penises and poop all day long. And not in a good way."

All joking aside, the actress - who is mom to Oliver, 2, and twins Gus and John, 8 months - goes on to say, "I always come across sounding like I hate my children. I actually love them very much."

Bowen, 39, also revealed what she couldn't live without in her busy house. "Piles of cloth to wipe up the massive amounts of vomit and fluids that are constantly coming through my house. Otherwise, my favorite mommy must-have is an excuse to get out of the house," she went on. "My job. Get out! My doctor told me, 'Only give 70 percent. You’ll hate them if you give 100 percent of yourself.' I took that advice to heart. I run to my job. I love my job."

And how did the Lost star lose the baby weight? "Laxatives and vomiting," she joked. "They don’t give you any chance to eat. I’m not in shape. But this is soft and doughy," she added, poking at her stomach. "I run a lot. That’s the short answer. I run and run and run."

Do you agree with Julie that you should give 70% of yourself to your kids?

Julie Bowen & Twins: Studio City Strollin’

Taking advantage of the beautiful southern California weather, Julie Bowen took her 8-month-old twin boys John and Gus for a stroll in Studio City, Calif. on Monday (January 11). The Happy Gilmore star chatted with a fellow mom and held onto a fallen shoe along her travels.

Julie and her husband Scott Phillips are also parents to 2 1/2-year-old son Oliver.

The 39-year-old actress has been enjoying the success of her new ABC hit show, Modern Family, costarring Ed O'Neill and Sofía Vergara.

Jenna Elfman Bumps Up The People’s Choice Awards

Gorgeous! An expectant Jenna Elfman was photographed at the People's Choice Awards press room, held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday (January 6). Jenna looked amazing in a fabulous off-the-shoulder number. And again with those killer heels!

Jenna's new show, Accidentally on Purpose, was up for Favorite New TV Comedy. The award went to the breakout hit of the year, Glee, which also beat out Courteney Cox-Arquette's Cougar Town and Julie Bowen's Modern Family.

The 38-year-old Dharma & Greg star and her husband Bodhi Elfman - who are already parents to 2-year-old son Story - are expecting their second son in March.

First Glimpse Of Julie Bowen’s Twin Boys!

Meet the twins! Julie Bowen was spotted on an afternoon stroll with her 6-month-old twin boys John and Gus in Los Angeles on Saturday (December 5). This is our first glimpse of Julie's adorable twins who were born in May.

Julie and her husband Scott Phillips are also parents to 2 1/2-year-old son Oliver.

The 39-year-old actress has been enjoying the early success of her new ABC hit show, Modern Family, costarring Ed O'Neill and Sofía Vergara.

Julie Bowen & Oliver Pucker Up

Awwww! Lost star Julie Bowen planted one on her sweet 2-year-old son Oliver at the March of Dimes 4th Annual Celebration of Babies in Beverly Hills on Saturday (November 7). Julie and husband Scott Phillips are also parents to 5-month-old twin sons, John and Gus.

The 39-year-old mother of three sons (under the age of 3!) recently admitted that So You Think You Can Dance, The Colbert Report, Hung and Mad Men are her current favorite TV shows.

It's because I have no life," she joked. "All I have is kids. There is no event worth paying $100 for babysitters that can't be beat by watching TiVo."

Bowen currently stars on the season's breakout comedy, ABC's Modern Family.
