Kim Fields shares exclusive first photos of her 4-month-old son Quincy in the latest issue of Closer Weekly. The Facts of Life star and her husband Christopher Morgan welcomed her new arrival on December 3 after a C-section. The couple named him after music producer Quincy Jones.

Kim was surprised by her pregnancy after suffering two miscarriages. She said, “I know it sounds like a cliché, but it’s a blessing. There was so much gratitude that he was here and healthy.”

The actress had believed she was perimenopausal and went to see the doctor after the urging of her husband.

“He thought I might be dehydrated, then I find out I’m two months pregnant! I was stunned out of my mind. We were both overjoyed.”

Quincy was born to his parents singing. With a special playlist on her iPad left in the hospital room, the pair sang a cappella.

“Turns out the anesthesiologist was totally into singing, so we were doing three-part harmonies and holding hands!” she laughed. “We were singing ‘Family’ from Dreamgirls when Quincy came out.”

Kim also shared that Quincy resembles his big brother, Sebastian. She joked, “They look a lot alike. Sebastian loves bragging about his little brother. He tells his teachers at school everything he does. He is Quincy’s publicist at this point.”

Kim Fields recently announced on The Real that she and husband Christopher Morgan are expecting their second son. The couple already have 6-year-old Sebastian Alexander.

The former The Facts Of Life star stood up and said, “Sebastian and Christopher are very excited. We’re very, very blessed. It was planned. We’ve actually been trying for a couple years. We had gotten pregnant twice and [miscarried]. Chris and I were very blessed to really have one another, to have our family and friends and our God to really get us through that.”

The 44-year-old added, “If I’m encouraging to anybody … it’s not like I’m the poster child for over 40 and pregnant.”

The baby’s name will be Quincy Xavier.

People reports Fields went on to describe how she found out she was pregnant.

“Funny enough, for a minute I thought I was getting pre-menopausal ‘cuz certain things were starting to be irregular and then other symptoms started — my memory and I was clumsier than normal which I couldn’t even believe was possible. Then our son got sick with a stomach virus and I caught it. Chris said, ‘No, babe, you’re a little sicker than Sebastian. You need to go and get that checked out’ and I said,’Okay.’ They tested me and said, ‘Oh honey, you’re not dehydrated. You’re two months pregnant.’”

On August 1 – Fields tweeted a fun message to a friend saying, “A big thank you to my sister, @PeaceNLoveLisa of Carol’s Daughter for blessing me w/Sexy Belly! I got a sexy belly, I got a sexy belly! :-)

Fields and Morgan – a Broadway actor – were married in July 2007.

Kim Fields Dishes On The Facts Of Her Life

Kim Fields began her acting career at a very young age and rose to fame starring in the hit 80's sitcom, The Facts Of Life. After spending her formative years in front of the camera, she has switched roles and is now spending her time behind the camera directing sitcoms for Tyler Perry.

The actress/director, who celebrated her 40th birthday last year, has been married to to Broadway star Christopher Morgan since 2007, and the couple welcomed son Sebastian that same year. In an interview with Parade, Fields opened up about growing up in the public eye, and life after The Facts Of Life.

On what keeps her family grounded: "First of all, we're a praying family. You just can't run willy-nilly in this industry. For me, before I was even a mom or a wife or anything, I was a praying person. I was always very clear that my faith sustained me and helped me keep a modicum of sanity. I couldn't even fathom being in life - let alone this life in the entertainment industry - without God. The entertainment industry has its own perils and ups and downs, like any industry. But in just life itself, I couldn't and wouldn't want to be without God. And I've tried to be in this life without God - no thanks."

On turning 40: "There's a lot of hype around 'Life begins at 40. 40 is the new 20.' Like, as soon as that magic birthday hits, Willy Wonka turns over the factory to you and your whole life and world change. But, at least for me, not so much. I didn't know what I was doing. I knew what I was doing as a mom, as a wife, as a director in my career, but, as Kim, I felt completely clueless. ...Just now, turning 41 a couple of weeks ago, slowly things are starting to click."
