Alicia Keys Out & About In NYC

Mom-to-be Alicia Keys showed off her growing baby bump as she took a stroll with her new hubby Swizz Beatz in New York's Tribeca neighborhood yesterday (August 31).

Not letting pregnancy slow her down, the Falling singer took to the stage alongside Mary J Blige, John Legend, Jay-Z and Beyonce and Lauryn Hill at last week's 2010 Rock The Bells concert in NYC.

Alicia and Swizz Beatz are expecting their baby in November.

Lauryn Hill: I Put My Career On Hold For 5 Kids

Multi Grammy Award-winning singer Lauryn Hill is making a comeback! The 35-year-old mother of five told NPR that she is "excited" to be joining the line-up of the Rock The Bells Festival Series, a hip-hop tour across America.

The critically acclaimed artist insisted that media criticism didn't force her out of the public eye, admitting she grew disillusioned with the music industry and took a step back to care for her five children with longtime partner Rohan Marley.

There were a number of different reasons [why I left music]. The support system that I needed was not necessarily in place. There were things about myself, personal-growth things, that I had to go through in order to feel like it was worth it. The machine can overlook the need to take care of the people who produce the sounds that have a lot to do with the health and well-being of society... And it's important that people be given the time that they need to go through, to grow..."

The devoted mom went on to talk about her five kids. "I don't know if you know this, but I have five children," she says. "The youngest is 2 now, so she's old enough that I can leave her for a period of time and know she's going to be OK. That's one reason [I'm starting to perform again]. And I think it's just time. I'm starting to get excited again."

Beyonce takes 6 Grammys, makes history

Beyonce made history at the Grammys on Sunday as she collected six trophies, including song of the year for her anthem “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It),” making her the most decorated woman in one night in the 52-year history of the awards show.

Beyonce won her sixth trophy with best female pop vocal for “Halo.” Perhaps she was not aware of her record-setting feat; her acceptance speech was decidedly low key.

“Thank you so much. This has been such an amazing night for me and I’d love to thank the Grammys,” Beyonce said in her brief remarks. “I’d like to thank all of the fans for their support over the years.”

The Kings of Leon, whose “Use Somebody” trumped her “Halo” to win record of the year, were a bit more entertaining when they picked up their trophy, the family quartet’s third of the night.

“I’m not going to lie, we’re all a little drunk. But we’re happy drunks,” said lead singer Caleb Followill.

Beyonce, who in 2004 won five Grammys on the strength of her debut album “Dangerously in Love,” a mark tied by the likes of Alicia Keys, Norah Jones and Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse and Alison Krauss, reached that milestone again Sunday en route to the new record. She is the first to reach that mark twice.

She won the songwriting trophy along with three writers for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).” The superstar also won best R&B contemporary album for “I Am … Sasha Fierce” among her other awards, and still had the opportunity to win the evening’s remaining top award — album of the year.
