Mark Wahlberg: My Faith Is “The Most Important Part Of My Life”

Mark Wahlberg Takes His Boys To Play Basketball

In an interview with Parade, Lone Survivor actor Mark Wahlberg, 42, opens up about his faith an family life with wife Rhea Durham and their four children: Ella, 10, Michael, 7, Brendan, 5, and Grace, 3.

On how he spends Sundays: “If the kids are good, I’ll have doughnuts for them at 6:30 in the morning, and I’ll say, ‘You guys gotta let Mommy sleep in!’ I’ll go to church at 7:30 and everybody will be eating breakfast when I come home. Then we’ll go to church again at 10:30, if things aren’t too hectic. Or if one of the kids has a game we’ll watch them play. It’s a nice family day.”

On faith: “It’s the most important part of my life. I don’t try to push it on anybody and I don’t try to hide it.”

On father-son time: “My sons and I thoroughly enjoy Legos. We go to the toy store every week for more. I never want to take what we build apart; I want to put it on a shelf. My wife is starting to get a little annoyed with the Legos lying around.”

On who’s in his entourage now: “My wife, the kids, and a wonderful nanny. When I’m filming, all the guys are with me; but if I’m not at work, I’m with my family.”

Mark Wahlberg & Michael: Toy Shoppers

Mark Wahlberg and Michael go Toy Shopping

Mark Wahlberg and his son Michael, 6, were spotted leaving Tom’s Toys with their bag of purchases in Beverly Hills, Calif. on Wednesday (November 13).

The actor was at the Lone Survivor premiere at the AFT Fest on Tuesday night when he started a surprising monologue after being asked about his rigorous training and the rough shoot.

According to Entertainment Weekly he said, “For actors to sit there and talk about ‘oh I went to SEAL training’? I don’t give a f-ck what you did. You don’t do what these guys did. For somebody to sit there and say my job was as difficult as being in the military? How f-cking dare you, while you sit in a makeup chair for two hours.”

That comment prompted media outlets to believe he was referring to Tom Cruise’s misunderstood statement on comparing acting to fighting in a a war.

TMZ stopped Wahlberg on Wednesday to ask if he made the comments at the screening at the expense of Tom Cruise.

“I didn’t know that it was Tom Cruise who had said that,” Wahlberg said. “Somebody had just mentioned that people were comparing [acting and being in the military]. I love Tom Cruise. He’s a great actor. I have the utmost respect for Tom Cruise, but I have the utmost respect for military guys; it’s just unfair for anybody to comment on that.”

Mark Wahlberg & Family: Flower Shoppin’

Mark Wahlberg & Family Attend A Party

Mark Wahlberg and his wife Rhea took their children shopping for flowers in West Hollywood, Calif. last Saturday (June 8). Walking down the street – the couple held Michael’s hand as they headed to a party.

Later that night the actor attended the 2013 Spike TV Guys Choice Awards. Not bothering to change – he was on hand to present an award to Burt Reynolds.

Mark – currently filming the new Transformers installment – is also a movie producer and an investor in AquaHydrate.

He has said, “I’m more a businessman than anything right now. Acting takes me away from my family. My entire philosophy has changed. Acting careers are short-lived; a business will last a lifetime.”

Mark Wahlberg Gets His Family To The Church On Time

Mark Wahlberg was spotted on Sunday (September 19) taking wife Rhea Durham and kids Ella Rae, 7, Michael, 4, to church. Mom and dad must have let younger kids Grace, 6 months, and Brendan, 1-1/2, take the morning off and sleep in.

I'm betting that one of the things Mark was thankful for on this Sunday morning was that his new HBO series that he executive produced, Boardwalk Empire, is getting rave reviews.

And going to church is probably another one of the signs that Mark is leading a quieter life these days – he recently admitted that his hard-partying days are behind him. "There's nothing really but trouble out there. I enjoy going to bed early. Instead of going to the nightclub I go to the country club...I've dodged many bullets in my day, literally, so to be able to just settle down and relax, I enjoy that.

Mark Wahlberg Prefers Country Clubs Over Nightclubs

Looks like Marky Mark's ditched his funky bunch. Mark Wahlberg, who has battled drug addiction in the past and served time in jail as a teen, says he's left his hard partying days behind and now gets his good vibrations in other ways.

The Other Guys star, who is married to Rhea Durham, says now he prefers spending time with their four kids – Ella Rae, 7, Michael, 4, Grace, 6 months, and Brendan 1-1/2.

"I play golf in the morning and hang out with my kids all day everyday," he says. "I've dodged many bullets in my day, literally, so to be able to just settle down and relax, I enjoy that."

Mark Wahlberg & His Cuddle Bunny

Mark Wahlberg and his gorgeous daughter Ella Rae were spotted out for a walk with a friend in Beverly Hills on Saturday (February 6). The adorable 6-year-old sported a sweet tee that read "Cuddle Bunny." Ella's mother is Mark's wife, model Rhea Durham.

Mark and Rhea just welcomed their fourth child, daughter Garce Margaret, on January 11. Marky Mark said that their funky bunch might not be complete just yet.

My wife has always wanted four, two boys and two girls, so miraculously she got everything she wanted. She's saying she's done. She loves being a mother, so she may end up wanting one more. We'll see what happens."

Mark and Rhea are also parents to sons Michael, 3, and Brendan, 1.
