Mark Wahlberg & Michael: Toy Shoppers

Mark Wahlberg and Michael go Toy Shopping

Mark Wahlberg and his son Michael, 6, were spotted leaving Tom’s Toys with their bag of purchases in Beverly Hills, Calif. on Wednesday (November 13).

The actor was at the Lone Survivor premiere at the AFT Fest on Tuesday night when he started a surprising monologue after being asked about his rigorous training and the rough shoot.

According to Entertainment Weekly he said, “For actors to sit there and talk about ‘oh I went to SEAL training’? I don’t give a f-ck what you did. You don’t do what these guys did. For somebody to sit there and say my job was as difficult as being in the military? How f-cking dare you, while you sit in a makeup chair for two hours.”

That comment prompted media outlets to believe he was referring to Tom Cruise’s misunderstood statement on comparing acting to fighting in a a war.

TMZ stopped Wahlberg on Wednesday to ask if he made the comments at the screening at the expense of Tom Cruise.

“I didn’t know that it was Tom Cruise who had said that,” Wahlberg said. “Somebody had just mentioned that people were comparing [acting and being in the military]. I love Tom Cruise. He’s a great actor. I have the utmost respect for Tom Cruise, but I have the utmost respect for military guys; it’s just unfair for anybody to comment on that.”

Mark Wahlberg & Family Attend A Party

Mark – currently filming the new Transformers installment – is also a movie producer and an investor in AquaHydrate.

He has said, “I’m more a businessman than anything right now. Acting takes me away from my family. My entire philosophy has changed. Acting careers are short-lived; a business will last a lifetime.”

Michael Wahlberg’s A Karate Cutie

Mark Wahlberg, 38, and his eldest son Michael were spotted out in Brentwood, Calif. on Saturday (April 3) as they made their way to the Karate school where the ambitious 3-year-old is taking lessons.

Recently, the former Funky Bunch member chatted with Jimmy Kimmel about another sport that his son has taken a liking to:

My son is obsessed with boxing. I took him to see Manny Pacquiao yesterday at the Wild Card Gym. I have a boxing ring at home because I did [the film The Fighter], so I put up a ring in my backyard. As soon as we got home he wanted to go in the ring and just pound the crap out of me. And we did that again today. He puts on the gloves, he tells me to get on my hands and my knees and put my hands behind my back and he just punches me as hard as he can.

It looks like little Michael might be following in his dad’s “tough guy” footsteps!

Mark and wife Rhea Durham are also parents to Ella Rae, 6, Brendan Joseph, 19-months, and Grace Margaret, 2 ½-months.
