Coachella, the giant three-day music festival that takes place every April in Southern California’s Indio desert,  kicked off 2012′s summer music festival on Friday, April 13.  It looks like after tonight the most talked about performer will be the late rapper 2pac via hologram!  Dr. Dre took the stage with guest appearances from Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Kurupt, Wiz Khalifa, Eminem and, amazingly, 2Pac.

As you can imagine, just like when he was alive, 2pac sent the crowd into a frenzy and Twitter buzzed with excitement.  After tonight surprise I wonder what’s in store for future concerts, a Nirvana reunion perhaps?

Miley Cyrus Covers Nirvana, and So Begins The Apocalypse

At a teeny-bop concert in Ecuador, Miley Cyrus performed the world’s most incongruous rendition of Nirvana anthem “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” I say this as someone who once witnessed a violin-flute duo called Nerdvana at an Illinois summer camp talent show in the ’90s.

I feel the most sorry for the guitarist. He’s probably some guy who thought he was going to be in an awesome band. He failed and became a studio musician who sadly landed a gig on the Miley tour. Then he participated in the desecration of Teen Spirit and will never make it into Rock and Roll Heaven.

Yea, I’m talking about the one where you can see a robotified Kurt Cobain belting out his hit number Smells Like Teen Spirit in quite a mechanical way. Well, it was just the tip of the iceberg, because Kurt’s avatar in Guitar Hero 5 is “unlockable” which allows players to associate it with any kind of song.

As expected, Courtney Love has already declared a war by threatening to sue Activision. However, this time Courtney is not alone in her battle to preserve Kurt’s legacy. She has attracted support from an unexpected quarter - the Foo Fighters.
