Paul Bettany On The Benefits Of Working With His Wife

Married for 7 years in real life, Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly play husband and wife on the big screen in their latest film, Creation. Paul recently talked to Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail about the upside of working alongside his wife:

“When people are trying to present a marriage on screen, they tend to look at each other too much, when really, a lot of ignoring goes on. When I’m sitting watching television with my wife and I put my hand out, I don’t need to look at her, I know where her hand is, because it’s been there for the last seven years. So I think the film got that much for free."

The 38-year-old actor admits that he and Jennifer did tend to take their work home with them.

"Also, when we’d put the kids to bed and were lying in bed exhausted, Jennifer and I were able to talk about the next day’s work," Paul says, adding, "Now, I’m not saying that it’s in any way abnormal for leading actors and actresses to be in bed together – but I doubt they’re talking about the next day’s work.”

The couple are raising boys Kai, 12, - Jennifer's son from a previous relationship - and Stellan, 6.

Paul Bettany & Jennifer Connelly’s Big Apple Boys

Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany were photographed taking the dog along as they dropped off her 12-year-old son Kai and their 6-year-old son Stellan at school in New York City this morning (January 15).

We just spotted the family of four doing the school run - again with their cute pooch - earlier this week.

Jennifer and Paul, who first met while costarring in A Beautiful Mind, are reconnecting on the big screen in the Charles Darwin biopic, Creation. While promoting their controversial new film, the 38-year-old English actor proclaimed himself an atheist.

I wish I did have faith. I think it would make life so much easier. I just have not discovered God in my life. I mean, I don’t see him. It's not that I'm closed off to the argument, but I do feel the burden of proof."
