That’s not your spider sense tingling. That’s your broken femur. According to several people in the audience of last night’s opening night performance of the Bono-penned Julie Taymor directed Spider-Man musical Turn off the Dark just stopped a performance mid-show after an actor was involved in a ‘big accident’ int he form of a two-story fall.
According to TMZ:
A 31-year-old male was taken from Broadway’s Foxwoods Theater to Bellevue Hospital on Monday night after the “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” performer accidentally fell into the pit in front of a preview audience.
Another performer in the musical identified the injured man as Christopher Tierney, the show’s main aerialist who does stunts for the role of Spider-Man.
The accident happened with only seven minutes left in the show. An audience member with a cell phone shot the mishap as it happened — the video shows Spidey’s cable snapping before plummeting into the pit.

Seen here is Emma Stone at the set of Spider Man 4 which began filming yesterday in LA… Or wait, are they calling it Spider Man 1 since the are rebooting the whole franchise… Bah who cares.
Anyways, like we previously reported she is playing the new Gwen Stacy, thus needed to change her uber red color hair which was the color of a redbone coonhound to the color of a Malibu Stacy fresh out of the factory.
Although Tobey Maguire starred in the first three Spider-Man roles (and was a completely nerdy MF-er that was easy for the comic book nerds to identify with) they are replacing him in the next Spider-Man flick … with an equally nerdy-ass webslinger. Great. Andrew Garfield, 26, has been cast as the new Peter Parker for the next installment in the franchise. He will be making his official screen debut as the legendary superhero on July 3, 2012.
“Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor’s work understand his extraordinary talents,” an entertainment source close to Garfield said. “He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit, and humanity. Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.”
Andrew has appeared in a few films, including The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the project Heath Ledger was working on at the time of his death in 2008 and 2007′s Lions for Lambs with Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep and Robert Redford. He will also be appearing as part of the cast of the upcoming Facebook movie, The Social Network, due for release later this year. (Which, by the way, will be the most hilarious misrepresentation of technology since Untraceable… where Hollywood believed you could hack anything. Even a car. Even your seatbelt.)
Andrew, although was American-born, grew up in Britain and is a pal of Robert Pattinson. Will he have enough douchebagginess to become as famous as R-Patz??? Judging by the clout of the role he is about to play, the one and only web slinger himself.. we’re thinking it’s likely. As long as he gets an emo hair spike/swoop down pat.
After realizing that Tobey Maguire as Spiderman brought as much cinematic pleasure to audiences as watching a woman in the delivery room trying to give birth to octuplets we would have thought Sony would make sure the next Spiderman would be a cross between Godzilla and Arnie back when he was doing steroids. Alas, they went for vaginal wetness instead (we tried hard to convince them we can make goo magically appear in seconds as well and we’re excellent at flinging it long distances, but they wouldn’t buy it).

HIGH School Musical heartthrob Zac Efron is set for a $15million pay day as he takes on the role of SpiderMan.
Zac Efron will replace Tobey Maguire in the fourth blockbuster movie, due to start shooting later this year and scheduled to hit cinemas in 2012.
Tobey, 34, stunned bosses at Universal Pictures last year when he announced he was quitting the megabucks franchise.
But a studio insider revealed: “After dumping Spidey, Tobey then came to the rescue by recommending that Zac should take over his role.”
Producers believe the 22-year-old, who has a huge teen following, will bring new fans to the Spider-Man series by playing the reluctant hero and his alter ego Peter Parker.
They are also believed to be considering reuniting Zac with his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens, 21.
She is hotly tipped to replace Kirsten Dunst, 27, as Spider-Man’s love interest and the source added: “It would be a great coup to land her as well.
“The franchise would be revitalised and transformed by two of Hollywood’s most gifted and fast-rising young stars.”
