Legendary CBS News anchor Walter Cronkite dies

CBS News legend Walter Cronkite - “Uncle Walter” to the millions of viewers - died Friday night. As per Marlene Adler, Cronkite’s longtime chief of staff, he breathed his last breath at 7:42 p.m. at his Manhattan home surrounded by his family. He died of cerebral vascular disease. He was 92.

Cronkite will always be remembered for covering some of America’s biggest news, including the news of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in 1963 and the lunar landing in 1969.
