Willow Smith’s Stylist Shares Fashion Secrets

Jaden Smith has been on one red carpet after another in recent weeks promoting his new film The Karate Kid. Not to be outdone by her big brother, aspiring singer Willow, 9, was spotted on a photo shoot of her own in Paris, France yesterday (July 25). The trendsetting tot showed off her usual funky fashion sense - not surprising since it turns out she has her very own stylist!

Willow's stylist Mariel Haenn recently dished on her young client's look, saying, “Willow is definitely inspired by Rihanna’s style.... Willow really knows what she likes and what she doesn’t like, and she’s vocal about it.”

She adds that mom Jada Pinkett-Smith has a say in both of her kids' clothing choices: “Jada said upfront that she didn’t want us to dress them like standard kids, like with Sesame Street T-shirts. And the kids really like dressing as adults and hope that adults will want to dress like them. But Jada will put her foot down if there’s something she doesn’t like, though if the kids really love it, she’ll usually let it pass.”

It turns out fashion is more than just a hobby for the Smith kids.

"I think the ultimate goal is for Willow and Jaden to have their own line," Mariel reveals.

What do you think of Jaden & Willow having their own stylist?

But will she and Levi stop at three children? The 19-year-old went on to hint that a bigger family may be in their future: “I miss my home because I've got my little brother running around there. I've got all my little sisters, and I just miss that. And that's why Willow and Piper and Track are always out here.”

And then as he got older, he had some real skills. We were actually sitting at the dinner table and Will was saying, 'We're having a really hard time finding a child to play my son in The Pursuit of Happyness. And I looked at Jaden and Jaden looked at Will and said, 'Daddy, I'll audition.' And I said, 'We know this, Will: If he auditions, there's not going to be any child that's going to be able to do what he does.' 'Cause I just knew."

Not to be outdone by her big brother, 9-year-old Willow also has big plans for her future.

"She loves music," Jada revealed, adding, "She's going to have an album coming out. She's 9 years old, I don't know where that voice came from. She sings like she's a grown woman, like she's been around.... Music is her thing."

On putting her music career on hold for Willow's: "I started a metal band called Wicked Wisdom. I toured and I loved it. But soon after, my kids’ careers started taking off, so I sacrificed it. I am pleased to say my daughter, Willow, will be putting out an album soon and I look forward to enjoying music through her creations. So I am excited about that, and she’s pretty awesome. She will be better at it then I ever could be anyway! (Laughs)"

On Jaden's first star role in The Karate Kid: "That experience was quite unique, and that was probably one of the most difficult projects I have worked on because this was my son’s first starring role, and it was for such a classic movie. He was working in China away from his friends and family. Even though we brought family out there from time to time, it was still long hours. Not only did he have to shoot but he also had to practice during lunchtime and weekends. He really had no downtime for about four months. It wasn’t an easy thing to do or to watch. But the reward is knowing that he is so proud of the product. As a parent, it was amazing to see my child understand the fruits of hard work, and he sees that from what was produced just with his own talents. I also think that this was really the first time Will and I worked together at that
capacity on such a project like The Karate Kid (2010). Like I said, it was hard, but I’m really proud of the product we were able to create as a family. I’m extremely proud, and I’m sure we will be doing a lot more of that."

Jessica Alba Hopes Honor Doesn’t Go Into Showbiz

There are plenty of celebrity kids who hope to follow in their parents' famous footsteps: Ella Bleu Travolta, Willow and Jayden Smith, Miley Cyrus. But X-Men star Jessica Alba is crossing her fingers that her 1-year-old daughter Honor Marie won't be one of them.

"I definitely don't want her to do that," Jessica said last night when asked if Honor might one day go into show business. "Anything but that!"

David Letterman apologizes for sex joke…sort of

palin-letterman-b1

David Letterman “apologized” on Monday for making a sexually charged joke about one of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s teenage daughters. Letterman was forced to do so amidst instense criticism and in the face of news of a group of Palin supporters planning a rally demanding the late-night TV show host be fired.

“I told a joke that was beyond flawed, and my intent is completely meaningless compared to the perception” of the joke by viewers, he said during Monday’s taping of “Late Night with David Letterman,” according to a transcript given to Reuters.

“And since it was a joke I told, I feel that I need to do the right thing here and apologize for having told that joke,” he said. “It’s not your fault that it was misunderstood, it’s my fault.”

Last Tuesday, Letterman joked that New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez had “knocked up” the former vice-presidential nominee’s daughter during a family trip to a baseball game.

But the daughter in question was 14-year-old Willow, not the intended target, 18-year-old unwed mother Bristol. Letterman said the following night that he was confused between the two and would never make sexual jokes about a 14-year-old.

Despite his explanation, Palin has charged that Letterman made “sexually perverted” comments.

The apologies came as a group of Palin supporters, calling themselves FireDavidLetterman.com, planned a Tuesday protest outside the show’s studio at the Ed Sullivan theater in New York’s Times Square.

Palin and protest organizers, including Republican New York State Assemblyman Brian Kolb, have said the comments were demeaning to women, and they are comparing Letterman’s case to that of radio host Don Imus, who was fired from CBS radio for offensive comments about a black women’s basketball team.

David Letterman rendered an apology for making a sexually-charged joke last Tuesday that Sarah Palin’s daughter got “knocked up” by New York Yankee slugger A-Rod during their recent trip to New York.

The funnyman apologized during Monday’s taping of “Late Night with David Letterman” as a group of Palin supporters planned a Tuesday protest outside the show’s studio at the Ed Sullivan theater in New York’s Times Square. Here’s Letterman’s apology (according to a transcript obtained by Reuters).

I told a joke that was beyond flawed, and my intent is completely meaningless compared to the perception of the joke by viewers. And since it was a joke I told, I feel that I need to do the right thing here and apologize for having told that joke. It’s not your fault that it was misunderstood, it’s my fault.

I would like to apologize especially to the two daughters involved, Bristol and Willow, and also to the Governor and her family and everybody else who was outraged by the joke. I’m sorry about it and I’ll try to do better in the future.
